- Open the downloaded disk image.
- Quit Mark or Folio, then drag Mark into Applications.
- Open Mark from Applications.
Mark runs natively on Apple silicon without Rosetta. If you install Mark manually over Folio, you can remove the old Folio.app afterward; your documents and saved drafts remain available.
Updates, without the interruption.
Mark checks for updates and downloads them automatically. It asks before restarting, and checks your unsaved files and drafts before closing.
You can also use Mark → Check for Updates. If you use Folio or Mark 0.1.3 or earlier, download and install this version once. Your saved drafts, comments, and settings are imported when you open it. Future Mark updates are automatic. Intel Macs can continue using version 0.1.3.
Files stay local.
Update checks contact avoid.works for release information and its Vercel storage for app downloads. Your documents and comments are not sent with those requests. Remote images in Markdown contact their own hosts.
