Imagine asking ChatGPT to split a dinner bill. A usual answer might give you a formula. With Intelligent UI, announced October 7, ChatGPT can instead make a small bill-splitting tool in the conversation: change the number of people and see the amounts update.
What changed?
OpenAI says GPT-6 can choose between a plain answer and an interface with graphics, buttons, forms, charts, or interactive diagrams. You might explore the parts of a bicycle, adjust a savings calculation, or compare options side by side. The model helps decide which format fits the question; you do not need to build the interface yourself.
The new ChatGPT model can also begin responding while it continues to work through a question. OpenAI reports quicker starts in its own tests, including questions requiring a web search. That measures OpenAI's test conditions, so your actual wait will vary.
Who gets it?
The rollout began October 7 for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise in the Chat tab, with Free and Go scheduled to start October 8. Enterprise access can depend on an administrator's settings. OpenAI says paid Chat uses GPT-6 Sol and Free or Go uses GPT-6 Luna. This announcement does not change the models used by Work or Codex.
Why it matters
A useful AI answer may now be something you use, not just something you read. For a beginner, changing one input in a diagram can be easier than deciphering a long explanation. But a polished interface can still contain a wrong number or a bad assumption. Check important facts and calculations, especially when money or health is involved.
