ChatGPT Slides turns a conversation into an editable deck

An AI first draft now lives inside a presentation workspace you can keep working in.

Say you have rough notes from a meeting and need a short presentation. A chatbot could suggest slide titles and paragraphs, leaving you to assemble everything. OpenAI's October 16 release notes describe ChatGPT Slides, which can start from a conversation, outline, files, or an example deck and make an editable presentation in ChatGPT Space.

What does it add?

You can change text, images, shapes, and charts directly, or ask ChatGPT to revise them. Teammates can edit together and leave comments. OpenAI says you can present from ChatGPT and, on the web, export to PowerPoint, PDF, or Google Slides. Those editing and sharing features come from the product around the model; a model alone does not provide a shared slide editor.

Who gets it?

Slides is rolling out to eligible Pro, Business, and Enterprise users with Space access on the web and in the desktop app. OpenAI has not said it is available to every ChatGPT account. Workspace settings may also affect access. The release notes say to start by asking ChatGPT in Work to create a presentation in Space.

What should you still check?

Treat the deck as a first draft. Open every source behind a factual claim, inspect charts against their data, and check that images and examples fit the audience. Export a copy before presenting elsewhere and confirm that fonts and layout survived the move. The announcement describes capabilities and rollout; it does not measure how often an AI-created deck is accurate or ready to present without review.

This is a practical example of AI shifting from writing suggestions to helping inside the final document. Our guide to choosing AI for a task explains how to judge whether that actually saves work for you.
